Skincare - less is more?

this sounds wierd but i just had an argument with my dad over cosmetics and skincare products!he was actually LECTURING me on how to take care of my skin correctly!!
The story is, I've been telling him that I'm going to get microdermabrasion done because i have acne scars and rough skin caused by previous breakouts. The thing is my skin was just fine until I tried out this expensive cleanser that totally broke me out severely. It had just recently healed and I just want my skin to be soft and smooth again. He started complaining about how I dont listen to his advice when he kept telling me not to use or try products around if you already found what is already good!Cos if i had listened to him (me and my dad have the same type of skin thats why) I wouldnt have to go through severe breakouts and pay so much for microdermabrasion. well he was right. he even get to the point that I should only use water to clean my skin because it works for him.
Skincare - less is more?My highly-recommended dermatologist has me using Dove soap on my face. Nothing else. and my face is as clean and clear and soft as it could be. Dove soap is nice and cheap. No toner, no exfoliant, nothing. Just Dove soap.
Your dad's making sense.
Skincare - less is more?Well .. I use a cream cleanser from Artistry.Dont use soap. Clean my face twice a day and apply the Artistry Moisturiser. Once a week i scrub my face with Artistry polishing scrub.
