Will formatting my HD compl..

I want to format my hard drive to reload xp but I want to make sure I don't leave anything on my drive I dont want. Will formatting the drive make sure I won't?

To some degree, yes. If the viruses you mention are software/malware related then formatting is the best way of removing them. If, however, the virus is a memory/BIOS resident - then you will have look at your manual for a CMOS restart/reboot (which will clear all your current BIOS settings).

If you are formatting make sure you do a full ("format c:") command, rather than any quick alternatives (e.g. "format c: /q/u"). Personally, I would recommend you delete the current partition and recreate it with a completely wiped/formatted disk. Very good luck!

YEs in the most cases it will delete viruses...

however you will also lose EVERYTHING else on your PC as it will revert back to what it was like when purchased...
