What is a really good book ..

I LOVE murder books. I love Body Farm by Patricia Cornwell and I LOVED The Red Dragon, by Thomas Harris. I want a book that has some Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs type stuff in it. Not only does the person get murdered, but he skins them, tortures them, etc. what are some suggestions?

I found "Wet Bones" by John Shirley I think to be pretty gross. It is horror rather than a mystery, but it is the only book I ever read that made me feel dirty after reading it. I didn't say it was a good book, but it has skinning and torturing galore.

The other option is to go for a classic author like Agatha Christie. My mother reads those type of books and Christie is one of her favorites. Another good one she likes is JA Jance.

These books are big with the death and gore but they include supernatural characters like vampires and werewolves. But you should check them out anyway.

The Anita Blake Series by Laurell K. Hamilton. The character is part of the investigating team in the police and she specializes in supernatural stuff, and she also is a necromancer(she raises the dead). (I recommend the first 5 or so for great bloody murder scenes but then the characters get to sexual with one another...)
