so I have run out of my stretch mark lotion and don't have $ at the moment to buy more.. not even palmers.. maybe in a few days I can.. but I was wondering if I can use my regular lotion in the meantime that has nothing in it that stretch mark lotion has.. it is lotion meant for high moisturizing for dry skin.. I am worried that if I use it somehow it would have the opposite effect of cocoa butter? like tightening my skin instead of promoting stretching? I may be paranoid, but would it be better than nothing? or should I wait until I can buy cocoa butter?

I am 36 weeks and don't have stretch marks yet, so I am hoping to prevent them as much as possible. *cross my fingers*

what would you do?

Regular lotion for stretch marks?

A lot of accurate and inaccurate answers here. Cocoa butter is NOT the best you can get. But NATURAL OILS, are the best.

If you use regular lotion with MINERAL OIL in it, this is blocking your pores b/c mineral oil molecules are too large to penetrate skins surface. So instead these lotions create a film on top of skin- never really moisturizing.

If you use regular lotion with LANOLIN, in it. Stop using it! Eww, lanolin is basically sheeps sweat extract and you don't want that on your skin do you?

NATURAL oils are the best. Lotions are ok. But lotions tend to be riddled with the above mentioned products b/c they are less expensive to create and sell than to have a full bottle of natural essential oils- that CAN penetrate skins surface and prevent over-drying, which causes the stretch marks to form.
