What happened to my snake&a..

My ball python is about 2 yrs old & last week he began to get the signs that he was going to shed (dry, grey skin including over the eye caps). He's been hiding under his rock for the last few days & when I picked up the rock, it looked like he shed his skin. When I looked for the shedded skin, it was nowhere to be found however. Is it possible for snakes to stop shedding or is it possible that he may have eaten it since he hadn't eaten in about 2 weeks? I looked everywhere & even dug up the bedding, but could not find it.

he's probably not shed yet.they will show signs of starting the process (as you mention)but then will go back to looking normal for 5-10 days and will then shed.this is what sounds like has happened and dont worry,they wont eat the skin however hungry they are.

Maybe it dried up & blown away... Or you can ask the one who likes to play with it while you are away...

I don't think he ate it once the ball python I had shed his skin and it was so rolled up it was hard to find rolled up as tight as a con__m
