I am 5-ft tall, and currently weigh 165-175lbs. I was around 120-125. I gained 20-ish pounds when I was on birth control pills to regulate my menstrual cycle (I have PCOS). I stopped taking the pills several months ago, but I continued to gain. I've always been a relatively healthy eater; I never had problem with weight gain (until now). I can feel how unhealthy my body has become; I huff and puff when i walk up the stairs or even just walking a bit faster than my snail pace. The excessive skin are trapping in moisture, which gives me rashes. I am going to be my cousin's bridesmaid next year, so I have a year to slim down. I am considering going on the Medifast 5.1 diet and exercising at 24-Hr Fitness.

Has anyone tried the Medifast 5.1 diet? Did it work for you?

Does anyone have any other recommendation?

Thanks in advance.

drugs are not an answer.

Eat oatmeal, stop all soda and sugars, walk 1hr a day to burn a few thousand calories a week. This will take off weight safely.

The health club is a good idea. Some weight training and cardio will help your heart, lungs, and make you burn calories faster with muscle.
