Injured stray...I need HELP..

I've got four people under my house as we speak, looking for this cat. We're going to find her if it kills me. We call her Panda and she's been coming here to eat for a long time. I don't know if she's owned. She's somewhat feral I think or maybe just mistrustful of humans. Until I found her crippled today she would come to me. Today I found her with 3/4th's of her front paw MASHED, mangled and dangling by a thread of skin. By the time I threw up she'd escaped me. I am appauled that I whimped out on her. The wound is not fresh. I'd say about a day, maybe two old. She's GOT to have a doctor, FAST before she dies! I called animal control, JUST to get them to help me trap her. They said they would trap her and THEN they'd PUT HER DOWN!. I shouldn't let anyone put her down because of a leg should I??? I intended to find her and take her to the vet..of course. I'm willing to take her in and KEEP her in ALWAYS. Three legs are okay, right? That's not cruel if she's healthy is it??

The tuna was a good idea. Anything that smells strong enough for her to catch the scent might possibly attract her to the area. If she does not want to come to you it might be best to set a humane trap. That way she will want the food but not be afraid of you.

Good for you. 3 legs is better then death I would think. But thats just me.
