I have had my cartilage piercing for a couple of months now but it never healed due to my school not letting boys have earrings. so i had to take it out, but i didn't want the hole to seal so when i come from school i put it back in. when i move my earring it kind of hurts, im not sure if its infected, if so what should i do. Another thing is that in the back of me ear there is a small red bump, What is it? Is it going to go away? Im really scared it might be a keloid!?!?!?! HELP!?!?!

Cartilage piercing help!!!?

I had a bump on the back of mine for awhile, but it eventually went away.. It probably hurts because its not fully healed and you keep taking it out, then forcing it back in in the evening. If its SUPER sore though it might be infected, if so you would have to leave if out and have a professional look at it.

Cartilage piercing help!!!?

I say take it out, wait until you've finished school then go get it re-pierced. Cartilage piercings are very prone to infections and possibly even dangerous, so playing arround with it and taking it in and out every day is doing it no good.

For it to heal you need to give it at least 6 weeks of not taking it out, not touching it, and cleaning it twice a day.

If it hurts to move and you have a red bump i say an infection is on its way. Take it out, clean it, and let it close over. It'll be worth it in the long run.

Sorry to hear this happen
