Can someone show me how to do this and explain it to me?

Help! CS2 + 3 O2 --->CO2 + 2 SO2 What is the volume of SO2 gas formed when 2 moles of CS2 are burned?

Look at your equation: you have 1 CS2 mole for every 2S02 mole. Thus if you burn 2 CS2 moles, (combined with oxygen to make it burn...oxygen required for burning) you get 4 moles of S02...the C02 is the byproduct, and you don't need to look at it right now.

At 21C, 1 mole = 22.4mL (do a little research on Avragado if you want more info about that)...so 4 moles = 89.6 mL

What are the conditions of the reaction? In other words are you doing this at STP? or what?

How much CS2 did you start with?

We need a little more info before we can help on this one.

2 moles of CS2 wil give 4 moles of SO2. 4 moles at 24.4liters per mole (approximately at room temp) times 4 gives 96.6 liters of SO2
