MY TIME TO SHINE
BY: Alliyah R. Latham
鈥淏ut I don鈥檛 wanna go!鈥?Bree said to her Aunt Liz.
鈥淵ou know you have to go. This is something you鈥檙e gonna wanna to remember for the rest of you鈥檙e life. Who wouldn鈥檛 want to go to their middle school graduation,鈥?Aunt Liz said.
鈥淢e!鈥?said Bree. She mumbled under her breathe, 鈥淭his aint nothing but another depressing school day to me.鈥?br>
鈥淏ree, if you don鈥檛 get your skinny behind up out that bed, I鈥檓 gonna get鈥檆ha out myself!鈥?br>
Bree wasn鈥檛 as skinny and lightweight as she looked. At least that鈥檚 what she thought. She was light-skinned. She had black hair that had brown in it. She weighed in at about 110. She was about 5鈥?. She was really smart. She got all A鈥檚. She didn鈥檛 really have anything to worry about. Bree just couldn鈥檛 help it if she didn鈥檛 want to go to a stupid middle school graduation.
Bree finally woke up and took her shower. She stayed in the shower for a whole hour just to avoid her aunt. She managed to go downstairs and eat breakfast. She sat and stared at the bacon that lay burnt and crispy on the white, floral plate.
鈥淚鈥檓 sorry Aunt Liz but this ain鈥檛 enough for me!鈥?Bree said.
鈥淵ou ain鈥檛 never around when I make groceries, who鈥檚 fault is that?鈥?Aunt Liz said.
For a second it was all silence. Bree was getting sick of living with her aunt. All Aunt Liz did was complain. 鈥淵ou ain鈥檛 do this right, you did this wrong, come clean your room!鈥? It was annoying. No peace at all!
