whu thay develop and is it a parasite or what?few have white sports what can i do to keep my fish helthy?
What are red spots?my gold fish have soem red lines on tail,how to get rid?it may have a bacterial or fungal infection if he has red streaks. you can get a product called Fungus clear tank buddies by Jungle( that is assuming they are in a tank not a bowl) if they are in a bowl try gold care fungus care.They are tabs you drop in the tank and they fizz. Remember to remove your carbon filter cartridge when doing this however. Jungle lab products can be bought at Walmart and Petsmart.The white spots could be several things. If it is a cottony growth it could be a fungus infection and the above product should work. If they are little spots it may be ick and that company also makes a ick clear tank buddies. However a little info here . Male goldfish get little white spots around the gill area and along their bellys when they are ready to breed. This is normal . You may want to try the fungus clear tank buddies and follow the directions. IF the white spots remain after using the fungi eliminator then you may want to take the fish in a container along with a sample of the tank water to your local pet store for them to test and to show them the white spots so they can tell you if it has ick or not. From what you say it probably does have a fungus infection .
