Breastfeeding and possible dairy sensitivity?

My son is 3 weeks old. He has been pretty gassy and fussy since he was born. I had a milk sensitivity when I was a baby so I decided to cut out dairy and see if he has the same problem. For a few days, he seemed much better. He had only been having one BM a day and now he is having one every time he is fed, fussing less, etc. Flash forward to today. He now has a poison ivy-like rash on his face. My mom came over today and said it looks like eczema. He's still pooping okay but his painful gas is back, along with the rash. My question is, could dairy still be the problem? I know it's not out of my system yet, but would he have started to get better and then get worse? I've been letting him nurse for comfort but it seems to be counter-productive as he wakes up half an hour after eating and draws his little legs up and screams. I'm calling his doctor tomorrow, regardless because of the rash, but I'm just wondering if I should be looking for another cause.
Breastfeeding and possible dairy sensitivity? It sounds like an allergy to something in your breast milk. The rash sounds more like a standard allergic reaction, than eczema, especially when you consider with the gas and fussiness.
Unfortunately there's a lot of things it could be besides dairy... or he could be so hypersensitive that even milk proteins in regular food are causing him problems. My friend's son had a very bad milk allergy, and if she had any dairy in her diet while breastfeeding, he got terrible blistering diaper rash.
You need to get him to the pediatrician so you can figure what is causing his discomfort!
