Brazilian Wax?

Actually bare wax. I have very minimal in grown hairs but after a few times of waxing, I notice I was getting more & more ingrown hair which makes it look like I have some sort of disease since it reddens the area.. I use to mess w/it a bit, try to get it out and pluck it off but it left scars instead that wont go away for weeks/month which made it look even worse. I've tried Tend Skin but didn't look like it was working.. My gyn told me thats what waxes does & that she doesnt recommend it.. But I have had ppl telling me that it shouldn't be that way & maybe its just that something was wrong w/where I was getting it done. Now Im so afraid to go get it since the scars would show w/o the hair covering it. Anyone know much about brazilian waxes that can tell me what I should do?

An improper waxing technique could be the problem. If not done correctly it actually breaks the hairs off instead of pulling it out. Also you definitely want to exfoliate 2-3 days afterward. They do have lotions that are suppose to help stop ingrown hairs but they are mostly alcohol and really sting. I would recommend finding a different person by word of mouth advertisement from happy customers. Someone will know where to go.

I get waxed every 6-8 weeks. Initially, I get those red bumps, but then it goes away with 24-48 hours. Have you talked to your girl who does the waxing? She should be an aenthesitian, which means that she is specially trained in caring for skin. If she's not, I would switch.

I find that if i exfoliate just after the hairs start to grow back it stops the spots form coming up. What you have are ingrown hairs & so if just lightly exfoliate the area it will stop the hairs from growing into the skin. Cheers.
