Need some advice from an eye specialist, please.?

Really worried about a problem I've had with my eyes for the last couple of years. I get a stringy discharge from the corner of my eyes, that runs the lenght of my lid, I know it sounds gross, but the skin under my right eye has become quite puffy, and is sometimes red and can be itchy sometimes.
I have been to an eye specialist and the said i have "lid margin disease" or something on those lines. I was prescribed Vividrin and a steroidal eye drop also. I ve been on this course of medication for nearly two months now (steriodal ointment for 3 weeks only), but the problem still persists. I know i should make another appointment with the specialist as I'm very worried, because this red puffiness is very noticable and more importantly I'm afraid what long term damage this could have on my eye sight, but at the moment I'm in full-time education and would not have 150euros to go, so please if anyone has any practical advice it would be most deeply appreciated, thank you for your time
Need some advice from an eye specialist, please.?Blepharitis or lid margin disease has different causes. There is staphylococcal lid margin disease. Seborrhoeic lid margin disease. Meibomian gland disease. Entropion (where the eyelid turns inward)and trichiasis (where the eyelash grows inwards toward the surface of the eye). There is a condition called Thygeson鈥檚 disease or - Punctate epithelial keratitis - which affects the Cornea and which presents as an inflammation of the cornea. Unfortunately, there is no absolute cure for blepharitis. And care for the condition is continual and long-term. The continual use of a steroidal medication is not recommended for the eye and you would be advised to consult your ophthalmic specialist with regard to this prescription.
I add a link which discusses this condition, and which you may find interesting.
