Yesterday, I went to get my nails done with my friend. Well, the woman accidentally pricked my finger with the cuticle cutter. Anyway, I bled for awhile. It was still bleeding a little bit a few hour later. Anyway, a few minutes after she cut me I went and washed my finger/hands in soap and water. Then a little bit later I used a wet nap on it. A few hours later, I washed my hands again and put bactine on it, Plus that "New Skin" clear band aid. My question is, Do you think I caught AIDS? I've never been cut before at a nail place. It looks kind of slightly greenish/bruised/brownish/drie... bloody like (but not much). Then I noticed another cut hours later, but it wasn't that bad. I had washed that one earlier, But put bactine and that clear bandage on it hours later. I know I'm paranoid. But do you think I could've caught a disease like AIDS or gangrene? Should I go to a doctor? Do they ususally sterilize tools at nail places? Cuz this woman just pulled stuff out of a drawer.

Please help me, I'm freaking out!!!?

Well first of all, whenever you go get your nails done, always take your own tools. They sell them in any convenience store. Some will get offended when you tell them to use your tools, but who cares.

Also, to make you feel better....I work in the medical field and I know first hand that as soon as the Aids virus hits air it dies in like 40 seconds. The only way to catch Aids is to literally rub their blood into an open wound, share a contaminated needle that has 'blood' on it, or through sex. An instrument that has been sitting in a drawer that had the Aids virus on it, will not be harmful to you anymore because most likely it has been sitting there untouched for more than a minute.
