Cervical nodule.... normal???!!!?

I have been experiencing a lot of burning pain and swelling on my left side, lower abdomen, after intercourse... Even know it is bothering me a bit. I went to the OBGYN and he told me that I do have a nodule on my cervix but it is normal... I don't understand how that can be normal especially when it is obviously causing me some discomfort... Also I think that I have some displaysia present in the same area but he told me it is just a skin tag. He also sent me for an ultrasound 'just to get closure on this if it is possible'. I have been going to this OBGYN for a long time and he is a great doctor BUT I don't know about this diagnosis. Of course I don't want anything to be wrong, however I don't think pain of any kind is normal.
What other types of issues could I have in the lower left abdominal area... I have had an ovarian cyst before on that side but I don't believe that is the problem.
He also suggested that becoming sexually active after an extended break could be an issue
Cervical nodule.... normal???!!!?There are types of cysts which may be found on the cervix which are an incidental finding, meaning they do not cause any adverse health effects. I don't know if this is the type of "nodule" which your doctor found, but these cysts are called Nabothian Cysts. Many women have them, don't know they have them, and do not experience any problems from them. We see them on pelvic ultrasounds often.
