a skin tag can kill you? i need a doctors point of veiw. i read that they are benign tumors and i was wondering if they were fatal. i need real answers.
Do you know if..?No, they are nothing to worry about.
Do you know if..?"Benign" specifically means "not harmful." Tumors are caused by the rapid multiplication of cells and can be either "benign" or "malignant." Malignant tumors cause cancer, where benign tumors are merely an annoyance. I have a benign tumor in my back - it's been there for years, never caused me a problem, and my doc says it never will.
Skin tags cannot kill you. Period. So don't worry.
Do you know if..?Skin Tags
You know the old saying. When you hit 30, your body does things it never used to do. Like growing all sorts of sorts of "age spots". The corollary to this classic saying; knowing that the older one gets, the more 鈥渟pots鈥?one makes! With that positive thought in mind, it鈥檚 reassuring news that for skin tags, at least, there is something you can do about it.
Taggin鈥?Along鈥?
Sure skin tags are benign, (and ugly). They tend to form along the neckline, under arms, beneath the breasts, eyelids, and may even arise in the groin. Where there鈥檚 one, there鈥檚 often many. These soft, fleshy bumps hang off the skin鈥檚 surface by a stalk, hence the slang 鈥渢ag鈥?(for medical purists, the term is achrochordon). From uniformly flesh toned to a multihued palette, size can also vary from barely visible to mammoth.
