Embarrassing skin tag in an..

I was born with a very embarrassing characteristic. Right on my anus...theres what appears to be something similar to a skin tag. It's been there forever, and as I get closer with my boyfriend I get increasingly nervous as to how he will react to this. What is this, is it normal, can I get it removed, etc? Help! =(

Skin tags are normal, especially in that particular area. You can have them removed, but it's not a pleasant experience. Depending on the size, the doctor can simply clip it off or will tie and incise it, then use cautery to stop the bleeding. That will leave things really sore. To be honest, if you are close enough to the boyfriend to consider exchanging bodily fluids, sharing this little oddity shouldn't be a problem. It's just a normal overgrowth of a bit of skin, in a spot we don't ordinarily inspect up close anyway. Chances are he may not even notice, or care for that matter. But if it bothers you that much, just go see the doctor and arrange to have it removed. Most docs can do it in the office.

I'd suggest asking your Dr. or a dermatologist to please remove it for you. Your gyno. could probably do it! I'm sure they could do it in the office in no time flat. It's not a big deal if it is just a skin tag or mole! If you and your man are in a situation where he's actually getting close enough to your anus, I seriously doubt he'd notice it anyway! But, as a woman I do understand feeling uneasy just knowing it's there. I personally would just make an appt. with my gyno. and see if he could just take care of it. :-)
