I was reading on a website that ppl do it themselves and i was just wonder if anyone had ever expiercenced it before and what was it like after?
Has anyone every removed a skin tag themselves???I have removed two skin tags. I tied a piece of dental floss around the base of each (it hurt initially but then subsided) and they both fell off with two days. I was pretty amazed. I had tried to freeze them off with the stuff for warts but it didn't work. The floss worked great, there is a roughness to the area after but that was all that was left.
Has anyone every removed a skin tag themselves???I did this for someone else and on myself. It's easier to do it to someone else. Make sure you really clean the area with alcohol, use tweezers to pull the tag away from the skin, cut right in between. Some bleed more than others. Press clean cotton ball/swab to it and have a topical antibodic (like Neosporin) and a band-aid handy. Depending how good of a job you do, it's fine afterwards. Sometimes there is a little left, but depending on how big it was, it usually looks better. For my son, his was in his armpit and once I removed it, he said the irritation of it went away.
Has anyone every removed a skin tag themselves???Yes, small ones. Use a VERY sharp pair of scissors, preferably surgical. disinfect them with soap and water followed by an alcohol rinse. Disinfect the area with alcohol. Pull and cut close to the base as possible. Apply pressure with gauze and bandage as appropriate.
Hurts a bit but so will going to the derm.
Has anyone every removed a skin tag themselves???The dental floss method described by other responders is great! The following blend will also remove them quickly:
- Cleavers herb, powdered (can buy on-line)
- Powdered Oatmeal (just run it through a blender)
- Tea Tree Oil (a few drops, but this is optional)
Blend 2 parts of the Cleavers powder with 1 part of the Oatmeal powder, then add a little water to form a thick paste. Apply this 3-5 times per day on the skin tag and cover it with a bandaid. The tag will fall off within 1-4 days. Good luck!
