let me book in to do a genital herpes test? and how do they do this test?

i am 31 weeks pregnant and i dont think i have it but i was being a hypochondriac and now i have to get tested cuz if i did have it and didnt get tested id feel bad as i only wana get tested to keep my baby safe.

basically when i put a finger in my vagina it is sore i havent had sex for nearly 3 months as babys dad lives abroad, so i put a mirror down there and it looks normal apart from a lump which is like a skin tag but this has been there for years.

i just want to no if the doctor will test me if i ask? i live in england.

I'm pretty sure you don't it. Having an attack is very painful and you have sores down there. If you don't have any of them then no you don't. If you still want to be tested it is a blood test.

Usually if you call your dr. about a STI they will get you in to check.. For herpes they do a blood test.. Some may just do a physical exam if you think you have an outbreak right now.. It could be genital warts also.. If it is herpes they need to treat you with antibiotic before labor because the baby could get very ill from an outbreak during delivery.. I would ask just to be safe.. Also, at a routine yearly appointment your OB/GYN does not check for herpes virus..
