Is it normal to have small bumps where stitches recently dissolved?

I recently had my urologist remove skin tag from my penis (a small foreskin remnant from my infant circumcision - see, circs do cause problems, but that's besides the point). Anyway, he put three stitches in and said they would dissolve in 7-10 days. Today is the 10th day and when I took a shower, I noticed that the little outer threads were all hanging loosely (one came right off in the shower). So, with a little bit of working the threads, they easily came out, like they were supposed to. Where the threads stuck out, there are now about 5 small raised bumps (3 being slightly larger, the central one is a bit reddish). The bumps seem to be the areas where the stitches entered or exited the area. Wil these bumps subside. They really don't look like they will, but I'm not expert. They could be infected, but the entire area around the bumps is completely healthy.
Is it normal to have small bumps where stitches recently dissolved? These bumps are the so-called granulation tissue which is just a little exuberant growth of tissue cells before becoming a scar. This is an entirely normal healing process. These will subside in due time and disappear as a more stable fibrous scar replaces
the granulation tissue. However, if these persists and causes
pain and inflammation, you might be developing a suture granuloma, and it is best that you bring this to the attention of your doctor for treatment.
