Spot on back?

I have had this mole on my back for like 18 years. I have had it checked a few times. It has never changed size or shape, but last summer it went from drk brn to a light tan color. It is pretty flat but you can feel it when you rub over it. I seen a doc yesterday and he thinks its a skin tag, but it doesnt flap over. He is going to go ahead and send me to a dermo because I told him I would like to get seen by one and needed a referal. Should I worry about this. The skin around it is normal, its just that it got lighter.
Spot on back?I'm not a skin expert, but like I tell all my friends before they visit any doctor--don't worry about something until you know there is something to worry about. :-) And the fact that are going to see a dermatologist--who is an expert--should put you at ease. If he/she thinks that it should be removed, then they will remove it. You will be in good hands. (P.S.--I've had a suspicious mole removed from my back. It didn't hurt. And it turned out to be nothing. Your dermatologist, also, will send the tissue to a pathology lab for analysis, if he/she decides to remove it.)
