Has anyone had a singular cortisone injection that resulted in atrophied tendons or cartilage?

I'm also experiencing a whitening of the skin. I was injected four months ago to alleviate my metatarsalgia (inflammation of the tendons near the toes). I'm terrified that this is permanent and will continue to shrink and weaken my foot.
If you've had any experience with cortisone shots and their side effects, please write.
