Something to think about?

In the Philippines...Filipinos have a brown complextion and spend allot of money trying to whiten their skin.

at the same token....white women spend allot of money getting a tan...even with the increased risk of getting skin cancer.

Brown want to be white & white want's to be brown...

Its all about that having the "best." Some people will stop at nothing for "the best." Its strange really. There are millions of people who live on less than a dollar a day, yet lots of yuppies spend hundreds on petty junk. Everything from meals to hair removal.

I have pondered this, too. But, a white person with a tan is still "white" (superior in their own minds). A person of color will do anything not to be perceived as such.

I am Hispanic (a person of color), and it is amazing how differently I get treated in many stores from blonde, blue-eyed customers.

I write poison-pen letters by the gross if I feel sleighted.
