When I use to tan I would keep my eyes open but I thought they were protected enough because I had the goggles on. Even though I had the goggles on but opened my eyes am I still not protected enough from the ultraviolet rays. Anybody know how to undue the damage from ultraviolet rays? green tea? antioxidants? Thanks for the help!
Ultraviolet light from tanning beds?it is very important to keep your eyes tightly closed no matter what kind of rays it is. the damage from the rays could harm your eyes permanently. so next time, keep them CLOSED.
Ultraviolet light from tanning beds?Sorry, but you can't undo the damage to your eyes or your skin. You can stop exposing it to the skin-damaging rays though and prevent further damage. Dark, leafy greens, and super foods like wild blueberries, acai, pomegranate, blackberries, etc. have high concentrations of anti-oxidants in them. Green tea also is helpful and can help minimize some of the damage.
Ultraviolet light from tanning beds?Unfortunately, whatever damage has been done is permanent. It may take decades for it to show up, but you may easily have damage to the lens and retina of both eyes.
Tanning beds are dangerous. Skin cancer and eye damage are common and certainly not worth the temporary skin darkening produced by the UV exposure. The people that work at tanning spas don't know or understand the truth. Most of them are young and not well educated about long-term UV exposure problems. They just tell customers what the tanning spa owners script out for them to say. It's all a lie.
Ultraviolet light from tanning beds?If they had a cure for skin cancer, then that would help. Unfortunately, there is no cure.
Reversing the damage done to your eyes is about as possible as learning how to fly a jet in one day. Unless, of course, you have $3,000.00 for Lasik eye surgery. That can only be done once in your lifetime, though - and no further surgeries can be done on your eyes later in life.
Be safe. Close your eyes.
