i am having a tb test so is it under the skin? i am so scared because i never had a shot under the skin before.does it hurt?
and how do they know if i got the tb shot?
Is the Tb under the skin?the TB test is called a Mantoux test...
it's an intra-dermal test, which means is just under the skin...
it really won't hurt much cos' its not like an injection where they insert the needle all the way into muscle or into a blood vessel...
if the test is positive it means you either have TB or have had TB in the past or have had a TB vaccination before... you'd be able to see a big red spot at the place where they injected you 2-3 days later...
if its negative... there's nothing there or the red spot is usually small... meaning the opposite of the above...
