i prefer my room temperature to be somewhat warm as opposed to freezing cold and my caucasion roommate is insistent on having the A/C as low as it will go. upon further thought on this subject i have noticed that many african americans as well as darker skinned people in general prefer warmer regions while colder regions like canada and iceland tend to be heavily caucasion. is there a genetic link to temperature preference?

Not that I know of. Races tend still to inhabit their evolutionary environments so dark skinned people are still in sunny climates etc.

However eg Africans do tend to like the sunshine so there could be a link. This is only anecdotal evidence though.

I looked through Google scholar and couldn't find a single scientific paper claiming any link or otherwise.
