Best treatment?

Anyone know of any acne medication that really does work..I mean really works?
Best treatment?Acne treatment is really dependent on the individual. I've had acne since I was 13 and I still struggle with it. You should really seek a dermatologist if you can afford it. Definately get a hormone level check! Most acne is hormone related.
From my experience:
Over the counter:
Proactiv, it's expensive, but it does work with CONTINUED use. You may become accustomed to it. If that happens, stop using it for two weeks and then start again.
Right now I am using the Murad treatment. It works, but not as well for my severe acne as of yet. I have only been using it a little over a month.
From the doctor:
The best treatment that worked for me was Accutane. But there are problems with this medication. It is caustic! It dries you out (even your muscles), because of this you may suffer muscle, joint and back pain. Women have to use at least 2 forms of birth control while on it because it can cause serious birth defects. Recent studies have shown that it may cause depression or suicidal thoughts.
Even though it has a TON of cons, it worked wonders! My problem was that the doctor that prescribed it to me did not follow up with a treatment of antibiotics and my acne returned. (I was on accutane for a longer than normal time. I went through 5 cycles of doses, not typical). I did suffer from back pain, and I still have issues with my back because of it today. Again, my doses were not typical.
I did find some research from the group listed below. I have not tried the acne-ltd II that they suggest, but who knows, it may be in my future!
