What type of treatment doct..

i am 35 and i have following symptoms

1 weight gain

2. no mentrual cycle ( due to mirena iud)

3. dark and corse facial hair

4. acne

Most of the time a doctor would have to do blood work to check your hormone level to see what areas you are lacking hormones. There are many hormones in the female body- estrogen, progestrin, testoterone just to name a few, based on your syptoms it could also be a thyroid problem(Hypothyroidism). I really recommed you see a doctor for a more concrete diagnoses

YOU MAY HAVE HIRITSUISM, GO TO AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST. IT CAN BE THYROID PROBLEMS.

I have had problems with hormone imbalance. Doctor first prescribed Premarin (for estrogen imbalance - usually for menopausal women). That didn't work - so then doctor prescribed a birth control pill with high estrogen (I had low estrogen due to depo provera).

This sounds like PCOS... polycystic ovarian syndrome... it causes these symptoms among others. PCOS is also related to insulin resistance. A good treatment for this is Metformin or Glucophage, a common diabetes drug that also helps PCOS.
